Beluga Restaurant was such a lovely dining experience and I would highly recommend it. The setting is beautiful, both inside and outside. I happened to of also had the best steak ever from their restaurant which was phenomenal.
I’m looking over my images that I took at Beluga and I am really wishing I had a time machine to go back and experience my first time ever at Beluga.
I’ve lived in Cape Town for over a year and have passed the Beluga restaurant on so many occasions, but have never thought to pop in.
I recently spent the weekend in Cape Town (CBD) It just so happened to be that Beluga invited me to try out their set course menu. The food was absolutely incredible!
Beluga is nestled in The Foundry; a century old art-deco setting that resembles a trendy New York style loft. It includes a beautiful bar setting, chilled courtyard, romantic yet cool dining area and an exclusive wine attic which I still need to revisit.
Beluga offers vegan and vegetarian dishes and their food is Halaal friendly too.
Beluga can seat a decent amount of guests, in total we looking at about 400 guests. Their outside area seats about 100 guests, The Attic seats 18 guests, Inside the restaurant seats 280 guests and the new whisky bar seats 30 guests (exclusive members only)
It’s the perfect venue for year-end or just family and friend’s gatherings for lunches or dinner.
The set menu I had costs R245 for the three courses, either lunch or dinner. You can choose from the normal set menu or from the vegetarian options and you can mix and match if you like.
I have to say the waiter was so attentive and really knew the menu. He really helped my choice options according to what i like having in general. The presentation of each dish was beautiful. Great for Instagram shots.
To start off I had Dim Sum with spicy peanut, chicken, coriander pot stickers. This was my very first time I tried “Dim Sum” and I am in love with it. I will definitely have it again when I visit Beluga restaurant.
We also had a few of their mouth-watering cocktails that were served with our first course.
I must say ‘The Long Island Ice Tea” was absolutely delicious!
My main course was the “Beef Steak Fillet” this main dish was topped with roasted baby potatoes, peri-peri reduction and pickled onions. Steak fillet is my favourite and I always intend having it when I visit a new restaurant. I really enjoyed my main course and it was well prepared by the chef.
And finally time for dessert. Our waiter suggested I try the White Chocolate Beignets, This was very delicious; full of flavour and the caramel inside is to die for. This is definitely one for the books.
I will definitely be heading back to this restaurant when I am in the area again.
